New Record For a Single Romance Scam

I know I usually stick with the funnier stuff here, but we have a new recvord for the highest dollar amount stolen in a romance scam. A man in Illinois lost $200,000 to a Nigerian scammer. They had known each other for 2 1/2 years, so he must have felt safe sending her money.
Another disturbing find from this story is the increase in online scams in recent years. In 2008, the figure was 265 million dollars. In 2009, that number jumped to 559 million. in 2010, it skyrocketed again, to 1.7 billion. It's virtually impossible to get the money back that was already stolen, but we can beat these people!

  1. My mother in law just sent $600,000.00 to a man she met on Christian mingle. Talked to him for about 2 months. We proved he was a scammer over and over. The thing is there is no help for these people. The law is on the side of the scammers. Even a psychiatrist told her it was her money she can do what she wants. Look up everythingdrakonfly on YouTube. To hear my wife tell it.

    1. Furthermore, the IRA she raided was worth over $800,000.00 he also talked her into sighning a contract for a house, so she gets to be sued for that. Also the tax liability at 45% is $270,000.00 which will wipe out the house she owns. Together this is way over a million dollars in unmitigated damages.
